granted, i'm not all about genital piercing, but this is fucking disgusting.
why women and not men? hello, can we say "taliban"?
next thing you know, they'll be passing a law to make us wear burquas. fuck you, government.
i HAVE GOT to get the fuck away from here. first the abortion vans, now a ban on piercing. i'm tired of all this fundamentalist christian bullshit in the government. women are fully capable of making decisions for them fucking selves. it is not cool to take away all of out rights because you believe you have some god given right to rule over women with an iron fist.
fuck that! what's next? are you going to outlaw make up and female contraception??
does this law not include men because of circumcision? oh yes... circumcision is religious. we have to chop off our foreskins for jesus... but heaven forbid we let women modify themselves!!!! (i am not in any way saying i don't condone circumcision. i like a cut pee pee... i just think it's wrong that the guy having it cut off doesn't have a choice in the matter) and seriously... these women actually want this done to them. i don't see anyone asking a newborn whether they want their penis left intact.
argh. i'm so fucking moving to canada.
We could stop reading the paper, which is obviously written by insane lunatics who like to twist wording of bills, and blow up the worst possible consequence.
Here is the actual bill. Note the word "piercing" cannot be found in the document. The reason the bill exists is because of several incidences in the past few years of female circumscision. That's where they cut off your clit. Male clippyness is mostly religious in nature, but has its origins in hygiene. Female clippyness, on the other hand, is entirely based on subjectation of women, and is probably the single most degrading act you can do to a woman. It's inhumane, unhealthy, and completely destroys any possibility for the woman to gain any enjoyment from sex, ever again. In fact, it makes the act of sex extremely painful, more often than not.
This bill is designed to protect women. Granted, it's not perfect, because it can sort of be read to possibly include piercings, if you consider a piercing to be "mutilation", which in most cases wouldn't. In any case, that's ok, because the bill hasn't been passed yet. Now that the fuss has been raised, the bill will more than likely be rewritten to make it clear it doesn't include piercings. It's important to note that when the change is made it's not because the stink was raised, but because the bill was never intended for piercings.
first off, female circumcision isn't commonly removing the clit, it's removing the inner labia.
i actually haven't read your post past that, as i'm on my mother's computer ljing while teaching her how to use it. i'll probably have more to say when i get some time to myself.
