i finally started working on my portfolio site.
it's being done in flash. and is all... portfolio-y.
i'm quite pleased with it thus far. although, i'm more than slightly disappointed in how little i have to actually go into the portfolio. my school is bullshit.
it's not like i'm doing really intensive flash, it's extremely simplistic and clean. i just wanted the interactivity, and it's slightly harder to rip artwork from a flash site. you actually have to download a program instead of just viewing source.
Flash is probably acceptable for your line of work. I'm sure it's a commonly-used design tool. I still hate it. I still miss using Veronica to find text files in Gopher-space.
In my line of work, if my website containing my resume needed a special plugin in order to view it, my prospective employers would say "Thank you very much, we'll get back to you, there's the door." We sysadmins and support techs ("Bobs") are all opinionated old curmugeons that way. Except for the opinionated young curmugeons, that is. :)
