last day of school for me!!!!!!
and i got (rather late) birthday crabs! two purple pinchers, one small one tiny. the small one is colored like lentil, his name is liam (courtesy of neonjellibean), the tiny one is a peachy color, her name is arly.
so now i have (in order of size):
they make me happy :)
it's definitely possible to overcrowd. there's a rule for 1-2 gallons per crab, but if you give them enough areas to climb and hide you can fit more in a tank, as long as you have enough sand for each of them to bury completely in the sand at the same time it's fine.
the bullying is happening because i have three different species: four purple pinchers, one ecuadorian, and one cavipes. you should always keep them in pairs of species, eventhough i'm not because i haven't had the time/money to search for another e and cavipes. the cavipes is bullying the purple pinchers because they as a species are more agressive than other species, much like the strawberries are more destructive. the es and the pps are the most mellow of the crab species (with the es being more active than the pps)
i could bore you with hermit crab information for hours.
