MY CAR NOW SHIFTS AFTER NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT / ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE IT UNDER 35 SINCE DECEMBER!

i actually tasted 3rd gear for the first time today. my engine kicks so much fucking ass.

happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy!!!!

glee glee glee glee glee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only shitty thing is, that it was in fact the kickdown cable... if i would have known what tension it needed to be, my car would have shifted back in march.

but... whatever. it finally works!!!!!

and i put the new door on and finished putting the rest of the junkyard stuff on... my car's now better than it was when i bought it.

:D :D :D :D :D

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

when i got back from its first real drive i so did a happy dance in the underground parking as people were walking around and they stared at me like i was retarded... but i so didn't care.

i'm the happiest alicia in the world right now!

that's what i've thought it was for close to two months now, after i figured out that it wasn't the shift lock solenoid.

i was so fucking pissed that it was that fucking easy to fix.

it still doesn't shift quite right. it's shifting just a bit too late and the cable is all the way loose now *shrug* i guess i might have to get a new one or something?

it's not bad enough that i'm not going to drive the everloving fuck out of that car now though.

hehe, i figured you'd drive the crap outta it once it was working again, and yah, your cable is probably just stretched and needs replacing :)

it's too tight, not too loose.

Heh, sounds like a friend of mine in Finland.

Bought a Saab 9000 auto for next to nothing but had all sorts of problems with 3rd gear and thought it was a lemon. We just adjusted the kickdown cable, the bands and replaced the transmission fluid and filter and it worked fine.

If you havent changed the transmission fluid and filter its worth doing, costs almost nothing and you'll be suprised how many problems it solves.

P.S. Hello from sunny Sweden *waves*
