i've now officially been to all 4 of my classes.
i have $200 worth of books i need for school. i need a pantone matching system book ($60-$100), The Designer's Guide to Print Production by Kayanna something-or-other ($40), and Gardner's Art Through the Ages the 11th edition i believe... at least the one printed in 2001 ($100). does anyone have these books? i need them and i have just a bit of money... not even enough for half of their worth. but if you're clearing space and need to get rid of them i'll pay for what i can.
wednesday is my "day from hell". 10 straight hours of class. two 4 hour classes and one 2 hour class sandwiched between them.
none of my classes are particularly hard.... i think this will be an easy quarter. i was gonna retake geometry this quarter (which i'm so pissed about since i had almost a 100 in that class before my teacher forgot how to fucking count). but adding a 5th class would cut my financial aid refund in half, and we can't afford that right now. it sucks because i could pull 5 classes with absolutely no problem this quarter and i know that.
summer quarter is so much nicer than the other quarters. it's only the people that really like what they're doing that're there. all the people going there becaue they're too stupid to get into other colleges, or that are otherwise forced, aren't there.
during my computer illustration class last night, the service beaureau (where all the printers and tech support staff are) people were playing nofx. and i could hear it perfectly. so i ran out and was like "kick ass music! turn it up!" so they did. it made my class a bit more enjoyable.
we're making a line drawing of faces in illustrator for my computer illustration class. i originally left the line thickness way up when doing the basic outlines and it looked like she was wearing bad eyeliner.... so i made it into a scary goth face. it's pretty funny. i'm like way more advanced in my scant illustrator knowledge than the rest of the class.
my 3d design and computer illustration teachers are both a bit off. my print production teacher is shaping out to be a bit of a bastard... but i'm hoping that's not how it'll be... he seemed kinda cool before that. my art history teacher is great. although the period of art history we're studying is the rise of christianity pretty much, she's so obviously not christian. and the guy that sits beside me in that class looks like what would happen if kevin and dolsen had a baby.
